Krav Maga Bristol: Southville & Bedminster

Krav Maga Bristol is run by British  Krav Maga Association Instructor Clint Badlam and  situated in Southville and Bedminster.  Areas that promote a warm community spirit made up of diverse social groups and culture. Our Krav Maga schools fit in very well.  Our students are from a wide variety of countries with various ethnic and social backgrounds and share the same drive and vision to train, learn and play hard.

‘Is it best to have prior martial art/self-defence experience before I train at Krav Maga Bristol ?’

'Nope, none whatsoever' This can sometimes be a benefit as you come with what we call 'an empty mind’.

Me personally standing here as an instructor ...

Other than a couple of months in Combat Ju-Jitsu and the odd bit of ‘work related self-defence’ training I walked in a complete novice a lmost 7years ago!!

If you have experience great! as you understand some of the concepts of training but regardless of age, gender, experience or fitness level, we welcome anyone who is willing to take the first step through our doors.

‘Is there a lot of contact at Krav Maga Bristol?’

There is contact at Krav Maga Bristol as that is the reality of our our training, all controlled and in a safe environment, you sweat, more than you receive contact.

Although a bit twee ‘The more you sweat the less you bleed’ - sorry I had to get that in there and it does sound better if you read that out loud and in the voice of Arnold Schwarzenegger .

We expect nothing from you but a bit of courage to take the 1st step and the commitment to learn, develop and have a good time.

First class 1st class...

It is my job to ensure that you have a first class 1st class and all the classes thereafter. What you can expect to find across the BKMA’s broad syllabus: -

- Physical ‘manhandling’/controlling issues (non-combative but a real threat all the same)

- Verbal and realistic scenario based training, recognising the threat and de-escalation techniques

- Threat awareness and avoidance training

- Combative techniques in effective self-defence and countering/disengagement

- Development of personal fitness, agility and strength to improve your ability to evade first or if

not, deal with an attack

- Multiple attack threat scenarios including ground fighting and getting to your feet as soon as possible

- Weapons, common attacks and threats both for the UK and abroad.

Krav Maga is simplicity.....

If it wasn’t for an image of Homer Simpson already being in my dictionary as the pictorial definition    of simplicity, then it would without doubt be a BKMA logo.

Krav Maga is simple to learn and effective to apply...

We combine a challenging and engaging sylibus underpinned by a realistic what will work out in the street ethos, if it was anything less I wouldn't put my name against it.

This attitude is replicated in all BKMA schools and instilled into the delievery of student and instructor training alike. Look around the site and any questions feel free to drop me a line.
